Haki is one of those systems in Sailor Piece that completely changes how the game feels once you unlock it. Early on, you’re mostly relying on your weapon or fruit, but as soon as Haki comes into play, fights become a lot smoother — you deal more damage, survive longer, and generally have way more control.

The game doesn’t hand it to you right away though. Each type of Haki is tied to a different island and trainer, and some of them take a fair amount of grinding before you can unlock them.

If you’re trying to figure out where to start, here’s the full breakdown.

The Three Types of Haki

There are three kinds of Haki in the game, and they all do different things:

  • Observation Haki helps you avoid damage
  • Armament Haki boosts your damage output
  • Conqueror Haki gives you a passive power increase

You won’t get them all at once, so it’s better to unlock them in a natural order as you progress.

Observation Haki (Your First Haki)

This is the easiest one to get, and honestly, it makes a noticeable difference right away.

You’ll find the trainer on Desert Island, not too far from the Bandit enemies. There aren’t any requirements here — just the cost:

  • 250,000 Money
  • 300 Gems

Once you buy it, you can activate it with the H key. When it’s on, your character will automatically dodge a certain number of incoming attacks before it goes on cooldown.

In practice, this makes grinding a lot safer, especially if you’re still underleveled or fighting bosses for the first time. It’s also something you’ll need later, so there’s no reason to delay picking it up.

Armament Haki (Your Damage Spike)

Armament Haki is where you really start to feel stronger.

You unlock it on Snow Island, but unlike Observation, this one actually makes you work for it first. The trainer is behind a small hill near the Artifact NPCs.

Before you can buy it, you’ll need to complete a few Combat-related tasks:

  • Punch 750 times using melee
  • Defeat 150 enemies with Combat
  • Use Combat skills 65 times

These requirements are basically there to make sure you’ve actually used melee enough. If you’ve been playing mostly with a fruit or sword, this part might feel a bit slow.

Once you’re done, you’ll still need:

  • 250,000 Money
  • 250 Gems

After unlocking it, you can activate Armament with the G key, and you’ll immediately notice the extra damage.

A small tip here — if your melee stat is low, it might be worth resetting your stats temporarily and putting points into Combat just to finish this faster.

Conqueror Haki (Late Game Unlock)

This is the one that takes the longest, and you’re not meant to rush it early.

The trainer is located at Shibuya Station, and by the time you get there, you should already be fairly deep into the game.

To even start unlocking it, you need:

  • Ascension Level 5
  • Armament Haki at level 40
  • Observation Haki at level 25
  • 1 Conqueror Fragment (from drops or chests)

And then comes the grind:

  • Defeat 500 enemies using Armament
  • Dodge 500 attacks with Observation
  • Defeat 200 bosses
  • Complete 25 dungeons

It sounds like a lot — and it is — but most of this will happen naturally if you’re actively playing.

The good part is that once you unlock Conqueror Haki, it’s always active. No keybind, no activation — just a constant damage boost that makes everything feel easier.

Leveling Your Haki

Haki levels up just by using it, so there’s nothing complicated here.

  • Use Armament during fights
  • Keep Observation active to dodge attacks
  • Fight bosses and clear dungeons

If you’re unsure about your progress, you can check your Haki levels in your stats page by clicking the small “?” icon.

What Order Should You Unlock Haki?

If you don’t want to overthink it, just follow this:

  1. Observation Haki — makes everything safer
  2. Armament Haki — speeds up your damage
  3. Conqueror Haki — long-term upgrade

This lines up naturally with how the game progresses anyway.

Final Thoughts

Haki isn’t something you unlock all at once — it’s more like a progression system layered on top of everything else. The earlier you start using it, the easier your grind becomes later on.

Don’t stress too much about rushing Conqueror Haki. Focus on getting Observation and Armament first, and by the time you’re ready, most of the requirements for Conqueror will already be done without you forcing it.

FAQs

Observation Haki — it’s cheap and immediately useful.

Is Conqueror Haki worth the grind?
Yes. Once you unlock it, the passive damage boost is always active.

Just use it constantly. There’s no shortcut beyond that.

Do I need all three?
If you’re aiming for late game, yes — they all stack together nicely.
